You'll get more formal Job Cards at the session, but the info below will give you a good overview of each job:

PDX-1 The Shoreline Local - Conductor’s Notes

 Does all local switching in Saybrook, leaving westbound cars and cars destined for Valley Branch towns on Track 5 in Saybrook for westbound extra (PDX-2). Retrieves Saybrook & New London-bound cars from Track 7.

 Get clearance from dispatcher to back out of Cedar Hill Yard onto main through #36 switch; inform dispatcher when switch is cleared.

 Proceed by train order to Saybrook, taking switch #33 into Track 6.

 Being mindful of scheduled mainline trains, perform switching in Saybrook and drop cars for PDX-2 on Track 5 and pick up Saybrook, New London and other eastbound cars from Track 7. Get clearance from tower operator to cross mainline and reverse switches, as needed. Repeat if necessary to retrieve later drops from PDX-2.

 When switching concluded, get clearance from dispatcher to proceed east to Fort Yard, New London.

PDX-2 The Haddam Local - Conductor’s Notes

 Receives cars from eastbound extra (PDX-1) at Saybrook for forwarding to points west of Saybrook and north to East Haddam.

 Get clearance from dispatcher to leave Fort Yard, New London and occupy main track; inform dispatcher when switch is cleared.

 Proceed by train order to Saybrook, taking switch #24 into Track 5.

 Being mindful of scheduled mainline trains, drop cars for PDX-1 on Track 7 and pick up any cars for up-river consignees from Track 5, leaving westbound cars for later. Get orders from Saybrook agent to proceed north on the Valley Branch.

 Perform all local switching in towns from Essex to East Haddam, leaving southbound and westbound cars along the way as practicable to stay within siding capacity limits. Tip: Leave Essex cars in Essex, proceed to East Haddam, and work towns on the way back.

 Upon return to Saybrook, pick up any westbound cars from Track 5 and leave any eastbound cars on Track 7, receiving clearance from tower operator as needed to occupy main track and/or reverse switches.

 When switching concluded, get clearance from dispatcher to proceed west to Cedar Hill.

HDX-7 The Valley Local - Conductor’s Note’s

 Get orders from dispatcher to leave Hartford and proceed south on the Valley Branch. Leave train north of overpass to help switching.

 Cars for Ballantine’s are on pilot for fast delivery southbound.

 Perform all local switching in towns from W’field to M’town, and to E.Haddam and/or E.Berlin as instructed per train order, leaving northbound cars along the way for later pickup to stay within tonnage and siding capacity limits. Southbound, trailing pt cars go to M’town for HDX-12 unless otherwise indicated.

 Main track goes through crossover in Rocky Hill. Place tank cars for Hartford Rayon on pilot to facilitate delivery.

 In Middletown, coordinate with crew of HDX-12 to perform any necessary transfer of cars.

HDX-12 The Airline Local - Conductor’s Notes

 Get orders from dispatcher to leave Cedar Hill and proceed east on the Air Line branch.

 Perform all local switching in towns between limits stated in orders, leaving southbound and westbound cars along the way as practicable to stay within tonnage and siding capacity limits.

 Perform all switching in Middletown yard, coordinating with crew of HDX-7 to perform any necessary transfer of cars.
